A stabilizer bar is an auxiliary component in a car's suspension, also known as a lateral stabilizer bar, anti-roll bar, or balance bar.

 

Resembling a skewer of candied hawthorns, a stabilizer bar typically consists of a main body and connecting parts at both ends. Its compact and ingenious design allows for easy connection between the car's chassis anti-roll bar and the left and right shock absorbers or lower control arms.

 

When the car is traveling smoothly and the body only moves vertically, the stabilizer bar does not function, and the suspension deformation on both sides is the same.

When the car turns or encounters uneven road surfaces causing body roll, the suspension on both sides bounces unevenly. The outer suspension presses against the stabilizer bar, causing it to twist and deform. This twisting deformation generates elasticity, preventing the wheels from lifting excessively, thus keeping the car body as balanced as possible.
